Experience Realistic Physics-Based Driving in Cop Chase 3D
Devlog #1 - Concept and Planning
We started developing Cop Chase 3D with a clear vision in mind - to create an exciting and challenging cop chase game. We wanted to incorporate realistic physics-based driving and a variety of cars to choose from, each with unique behaviors.
We chose the Biffe Arcade Vehicle Physics Unity pack to help us achieve the realistic driving experience we were aiming for. We spent a lot of time fine-tuning the physics engine to ensure that the cars handle realistically and intuitively.
We also decided to include two game modes in Cop Chase 3D - Desert and Endless. The Desert mode would feature a vast desert landscape with mountains and canyons to navigate through, while the Endless mode would have an infinite cityscape where the challenges would increase over time.
We worked on the game design and mechanics, figuring out how we could make the cop chase experience as thrilling as possible. We decided to add power-ups to the game that players could pick up to help them escape the police, making the gameplay more varied and exciting.
Overall, we're very excited about the direction the game is taking and can't wait to share it with the world.
Devlog #2 - Art and Assets
As we continued developing Cop Chase 3D, we turned our attention to the game's visuals. We wanted the game to have a distinctive look that would enhance the gameplay experience.
We started by creating concept art for the different cars in the game, exploring different styles and designs. Once we had a good idea of what we wanted, we moved on to creating 3D models of the cars. We made sure to include enough detail in the models to make them look realistic, while keeping the polygon count low enough to ensure the game runs smoothly.
We also worked on creating a variety of environments for the game. For the Desert mode, we created a vast desert landscape with mountains, canyons, and sand dunes. We used real-world references to create a believable and immersive environment. For the Endless mode, we created an infinite cityscape with different types of buildings and obstacles to navigate through.
We also spent time creating the different power-up assets that players would be able to pick up in the game. We wanted each power-up to have a distinct visual style so that players would be able to easily recognize them.
Overall, we're very pleased with the art and assets we've created for Cop Chase 3D, and we think they add a lot to the game's overall look and feel.
Devlog #3 - Testing and Polishing
As we approached the final stages of development for Cop Chase 3D, we focused on testing and polishing the game to make sure it was as fun and challenging as possible.
We spent a lot of time playtesting the game, tweaking the physics engine, adjusting the difficulty curve, and fine-tuning the power-ups. We wanted to make sure that the game was challenging enough to be engaging but not so difficult that it would frustrate players.
We also spent time polishing the game's visuals and audio, making sure that everything was working well and looked and sounded great. We added visual effects to the power-ups and created different sound effects for each car and power-up.
Overall, we're very happy with how the game has turned out. We think it's a fun and challenging cop chase game with a lot of replay value, and we can't wait for players to try it out!
